Central Ohio Logistics Roadmap Refresh
The Columbus region has recognized that its position as a logistics crossroads presents it with significant economic development opportunities, and has accepted this as a core strategy for the region. Recently, the Columbus Chamber and CRLC have retained ICA to update the 2007 Central Ohio Logistics Roadmap in order to expand efforts to other non-logistics efforts which nonetheless have a strong reliance on freight transportation.
The project team has already examined freight flows, industry strengths and weaknesses, and trends providing opportunity for the area. Next steps involve examining likely industry and use targets, identifying opportunities to influence decision makers, and producing a final, highly-executable action plan for the region.
The resulting plan is action and results oriented, creates specific strategies with realistic and attainable actions and performance targets and focuses on strategies and activities for creating and retaining jobs and tax base. The plan also identifies possible actions for stakeholder and institutional groups to reach the goals outlined in the plan.
